British duo Wandii and Andi are Karanda. Wandii was born in Leicester, England in 1988. Andi was born in Worthing, West Sussex in 1982. With 10 years of producing and 6 years of DJ’ing, their combined skills form a solid collaboration!
Andi and Wandii met for the first time online in May 2004, and they’ve since become close friends working together as ‘Karanda’. They have a radio show called ‘The Karanda Show’ on DI.fm Trance, every fourth Saturday of the month.
At age 18, Wandii became head of label at Moonrising Records with Bruni Bergeron, but eventually parted ways to focus on producing. In July 2007, Wandii met Andy Moor at a boat party in London and soon afterwards signed ‘Beautiful Dirt’ to his label AVA. Wandii then signed ‘Storybook’ to Presence Trance, receiving trance tune of the month in IDJ Magazine and support from Judge Jules and Lisa Lashes.
Jules then supported his remix of ‘Global Warming – Far & Away’ for four weeks, and invited him onto BBC Radio 1 for a quick chat. Ministry of Sound then contacted Wandii and licensed the remix to the Judgement Sundays 2008 compilation.
2008 saw Wandii and Ken Spector sign their first LightFlow track in 2008 to Armada’s Coldharbour label. Later that year, Wandii remixed Andy Moor’s track ‘So Much More’ for AVA. Karanda’s first release on Inov8 received support from Armin van Buuren on his radio show A State of Trance.
Karanda’s first vocal release with David Call entitled “On Hold” was signed with Coldharbour and supported by Markus Schulz, Sander van Doorn, Rank 1, Ashley Wallbridge, Myon & Shane 54, M.I.K.E., Roger Shah, and many more! It was also played by Markus Schulz and Mark Sherry at Trance Energy 2010.
The Karanda Show can be heard every fourth Saturday of the month (at 1PM EST/6PM GMT/7PM CET) on the trance channel at www.di.fm. And if you like what you hear, please vote for Karanda at www.thedjlist.com and www.top100djs.net (during the annual Top 100 DJs vote!).
